Ten tips for healthy teeth

This is how your teeth stay healthy

You can do a lot to keep your teeth healthy. Treat your teeth well and try these ten tips for healthy teeth.

  1. Brush your teeth at least twice a day for three minutes. Enjoy the little break and think of something nice. Or listen to a good three-minute song that will put you in a good mood.
  2. Change your toothbrush head or your toothbrush regularly – at the latest after three months! Otherwise you will rub the bacteria on the brush into your gums. This increases your risk of gum inflammation.
  3. Use dental floss and interdental brushes. Because otherwise you will not reach the particularly stubborn deposits in the interdental spaces, no matter how well you brush.
  1. Go to regular dental prevention check-up. This is the only way to identify and treat diseases at an early stage.
  2. Have your teeth professionally cleaned on a regular basis. We remove stubborn plaque and clean the interdental spaces thoroughly, so that your teeth shine again.
  3. Conquer the fear of the dentist! If you have a toothache, you should always come to us as soon as possible – even if you don’t feel like it. In this way, we can usually restore your dental health quickly and easily before an even more complex treatment is due.
  1. Eat a healthy diet! Sugary foods are a feast for bacteria in the mouth that start an acid attack on your tooth enamel. Perhaps you’ll manage to swap sweets for crunchy vegetables. Or dairy products such as yoghurt or cheese can be used as a substitute, because they ensure a balanced pH value in the mouth and also contain calcium, which strengthens the tooth enamel.
  2. If you do want to eat something sweet, then you should nibble once and not more often in between. This also applies to acidic foods such as apples, oranges or fruit drinks. The acid it contains attacks your tooth enamel.
  3. Eat raw vegetables, whole grain bread, and nuts. This stimulates the production of saliva and reduces the risk of tooth decay. Chewing a sugar-free gum can help with this.

Finally, a generally important tip

  1. Reduce stress as much as possible, because not only can headaches and gastrointestinal complaints occur as a result of stress, but also teeth grinding – especially if you deal with the events of the day in your sleep. Try to remove the source of stress and calm your body through exercise and relaxation.
